Naunyn
It is the electronic album of the bassist, composer and music producer, Marcelo Cabral. Naunyn is his last job, but the one that brings together all his post-punk skateboarding childhood as a professional from the 80's and that was recently added to his almost two-year season in Berlin. Each song refers to a street on the west side of the German capital, Kreuzberg and Neukölln. It is not a tribute, but memories of what each of these streets brought to him.
When his new “Swedish toy”, the OP-1 synthesizer, sampler and sequencer fell into his hands, the songs and beats started to appear one by one during this dive and isolation that the year 2020 brought. He used this moment to bring up all his electronic references along with his research and experience in clubs and festivals in Berlin, in addition to his visits to the legendary Hard Wax vinyl store next to his always-on Shazam and sucking everything he was hearing. With that, a bank of sounds and references was formed in his head to shape something that had been growing inside him for years, given his passion for synthesizers and the electronic world. Naunyn is an album that goes through different universes of electronic music, from the heaviest and darkest Techno to psychedelic and dancing Beats, from the gray introspection of your winter to synthetic 3D experiments.
